I’ve spent my entire life in Lee District
and what happens here today—and tomorrow—matters to my family and me. My wife Crystal and I expect our first child in calendarOctober and that child will grow up in the home that my grandparents built more than 50 years ago in the Groveton neighborhood of Lee District.

Healthy Neighborhoods Mean Strong Communities
Jeff will fight for strict zoning enforcement to clean up our neighborhoods. He’ll push for regulations so that new houses don’t destroy the scale and character of established neighborhoods.

  • historic FranconiaNothing is more important to our well being than healthy, stable neighborhoods. That’s why I’ll continue Supervisor Dana Kauffman’s fight for neighborhood stability and zero tolerance zoning enforcement. I’ll make sure that the County is using the right tools to go after overcrowding, parking on the grass, and other zoning violations that affect the health and safety of our neighborhoods and the people who live there.

Monster houses that are too big for their lots affect our neighborhoods too. Not only do they change the character of an established neighborhood, but they reduce tree cover, create drainage problems, and ruin the scale of the neighborhood. I propose that we
limit house sizes and lot coverage to the prevailing neighborhood scale.

Transportation Moves People—Not Just Vehicles
Jeff will work with our leaders in Richmond to get us moving again. He’ll push for pedestrian, bicycle, and transit improvements.

  • transportationDevelopment and transportation go hand-in-hand and directly affect our quality of life. We can’t pave our way out of gridlock. We need such spot improvements as turning lanes, better timing of traffic signals, pedestrian walkways, bike trails, and more transit. We also need new thinking and better use of technology to support environmentally friendly solutions to our transportation problems.

Jeff will push for better use of our education dollars to fund needed improvements for all our neighborhood schools.

He will work for more parkland and seek additional playing fields to give our children healthy activities.

Community Leaders Make Land Use Decisions
Jeff believes Lee District citizens should decide development cases, and he pledges to support all decisions made by the Lee District Land Use Committee 100%. He'll also insist that developers pay their fair share for our roads, school, and recreation needs.

  • When it comes to controlling growth and development, I pledge to listen to the citizens of Lee District. We have a citizen-led land use committee that makes common sense decisions on land use and growth in Lee District. I will honor that tradition and my vote will always follow their recommendation.
